PRESIDENTS MESSAGE: Ron has been extremely busy moving.  He returned from a vacation with a 30 day notice waiting for him.  They have moved to Valley Springs.  Ron had everyone introduce themselves and tell what they drive.

VICE PRESIDENTS MESSAGE:  Mike missed the last meeting; he and Sally went on a week long horse trip.  Mike has bought a new horse.  Everything went well.

SECRETARYS REPORT:  Carol thanked those who covered for her while she and Larry were gone on vacation.  It is good to see so many new members and guests.  Remember elections are coming up and being secretary is soooooo much fun!

TREASURERS REPORT:  Starting balance was $660.28.  After donations for the Hope Valley pot luck and paying for the meat there was a $100.00 excess.  New balance $760.28.  Dues collected tonight from newly voted in members at Hope Valley, balance now $840.28.

DELEGATE AND LAND USE:  Del is not present to report tonight but the club was told of a meeting that the Forest Service is going to have in Antelope on October 7, 2006 and if anyone was interested in attending.  Pete told the club of the meetings that the Amador Board of Supervisors is having regarding the noise ordinance issue.  They post their notices in small print on unusual days so attendance might be low.  The club needs to stay on top of this or it may be passed.  This ordinance would outlaw bikes, chainsaws, leaf blowers, jeeps, mowers to name a few of the things you may use in your own back yard.  Richard told us of a field trip the Forest Service is setting up for September 28th to Indian Valley Blue Lakes leaving at 10:00 am and another on September 30th to Mud Lake leaving at 10:00 am to look them over.  Why?? Closure?? If you would like to go be at the roads at

OLD BUSINESS/NEW BUSINESS:  Mike showed us the T-shirt art that is ready and he is ready to take orders for shirts.  The cost at present is approximately as follows:  short sleeve T-shirt $10.95, long sleeved T-shirt $13.95, sweat shirt $24.95.  Considering the cost of the art work is $150.00 a motion was made by Jerry, seconded by Mark, to up the price to cover the art work cost.  Discussion was held and the final decision was:  short sleeve T-shirts $13.00, long sleeved T-shirts $17.00 and sweat shirts $30.00.  Amended motion passed to up the price by 20% and pay the art bill or reimburse Mike which ever comes first. Mike will post something on the internet so that we may order.  Next was color.  After much discussion a motion was made and passed to have the long sleeved shirts in black and the short sleeved shirts in sage.

Pete reported on the walk a thon at Argonaut High School on September 16th.  He has 14 signed up to participate but everyone can come to show support of the club.  Only the 14 will get T-shirts and dinner paid for.  Pete needs help to set up.  Everything must be set up on Friday night September 15th.  We will have tables, cover tent, banner, chairs, 8 person tent and a jeep on the field.  Richard said they could use his jeep.  The field will be patrolled by the sheriffs department on Friday night.  We are in campsite #31 and walkers should show up by 8:30 on Saturday morning wearing their Rockcrawler shirts and stay till Sunday.  There is a place to park your RV but you must bring it on Friday.  They will need to know the length, type, etc.  Bring snacks if you wish.  There will be a snack bar available.  We will work in the fun zone from 2 to 3pm.  Pete would like this to turn out well since this will be his last club function before his family moves to Montana.

Car show:  Les Schwab on October 7th.  Let’s see if we can put it off one more week.  Ron will talk to the contact person at Les Schwab and talk to Laura to see if she still would like to help.

PASSED RUNS:  Richard reported that the Adopt a Trail went fine.  The wild flowers were outstanding this year.  Richard thanked Gareth for always helping him when he asks and he thanked Pete as well.  Labor Day we had 54 adults, two horses, many dogs, two cats and several children with lots of dust.  Laura put on some great activities for the kids with Gigi’s help. There was a pińata on Sunday morning for the young ones.  Tyler reported on the Fear Factor for the older kids.  Tyler said they were blind folded and had to eat weird things.  Richard stuck Tyler’s face into a plate of whipped cream.  Tyler was supposed to find a prize in the mess but when Richard pushed his face in the prize stuck to Tyler’s fore head.  The pot luck was great with lots of really good food.  On Deer Valley there were 15 vehicles.  We left at 8am sharp.  There was some breakage.  Mark towed out a bronco with no steering with Gareth’s great idea to put on two tow straps in order to keep the wheels straight.  Larry and David were waiting at the trail head to put it on a trailer. Everyone returned to camp by 6:00Pm.  Two new families were voted into membership at the Pot Luck.  There was a late start on Sunday to Red Canyon.  It is out of Wellington over Pine Nuts to Minden/Gardnerville.  The M&M had some troubles.  Richard didn’t think the M&M would need 4 wheel drive but………………..Mark towed out his second Bronco for the weekend.  Don’s transfer case came loose, so he was towed also.  Alan of course has the record for the 1st breakage.  He walked to Richard with drive line in hand the very first day.  Mike Mole’ did the mini Rubicon and found lots of good stuff up there.  Mike’s Toy came back to camp on a trailer also.

FUTURE RUNS:  Richard received a letter from the new chair of Winter Fun Fest inviting us back to participate in the dinner making.  He would like the club to do the Saturday night dinner again.  This year it will be on January 12, 13, and 14th.  They are under new management so there may be some changes.  Richard will check on the RV parking and said more help is needed badly.  There were not enough help last year and everyone was running around crazy.  You must be a member of Cal 4 Wheel and you receive a discount on the fee to the Fun Fest.

Meeting adjourned at 9:30pm.
