With a commanding authority Mr. President called the meeting to order at
19:34 on this forth day of May two thousand and six.
Guests and members were asked in introduce themselves and describe their
vehicle.
Presidents Report
Mr. Delaney stated the last month was stagnant as far as club activities
and attributed this to the poor weather conditions. For the record, he
did not say anything about the hole in the ozone or the cutting down of
rain forests was causing the poor weather. Although he appeared
concerned about Richard’s appearance, he had no more valuable
information to share in his report.
Vice Presidents Report
Absent as well as his CEO.
Secretary’s Report
Absent- Claims to be caring for daughter but we know it is an excuse to
be with her granddaughter.
Treasurer’s Report
Making a late appearance in a grand fashion, Judy stated at the last
meeting the club had $505.85. She also included that at the last meeting
we sold some club limit edition memorabilia items for a grand total net
gain of $26. Thus, our undisputed current club bank balance is $531.85.
She said MLRC members of CA4WDC need to pay their dues ASAP. Dues on the
ASAP-CA4WDC-MLRC members are $45. PLEASE MAIL CHECK TO JUDY NOW, YOU
KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE. Please make checks payable to
Mike Stoller I mean Motherlode Rockcrawlers. Mail them to the P.O. Box.
Sorry I don’t have the P.O. Box number, but you can email Ron or Judy
for it. Judy is working on an information booth for the fair but we need
a million dollars of liability coverage to tell people how to four-wheel
safe and be smart. She is working on that issue. She said the booth is
$450 and we are trying to get near CHP and CDF. She had not further
information.
Membership Report
Gary Pearson (a handsome man) said he had no contacts.
Delegate and Land Use
The legendary no other then Mr. Del Albright himself was present to
report.
Rubicon master plan is moving on. He expects it to take a couple of
years and he will keep us informed. National route designation may be
closing temporally on the top of the Sweetwater’s because parts of the
trail are not on any maps. Parts of the Pine Nuts are in danger too. Del
is going to be putting on a major battle for the area. Tread Lightly is
getting almost green. The kid’s pledge goes too far. Del has asked for
changes and is willing to start a nationwide effort against Tread
Lightly if they do not change it. He noted that next year is Blue Ribbon
Coalition’s 20th year anniversary as well as the Motherlode Rockcrawlers
20th anniversary too. May 16th is the Land Use Committee of Amador
County and the Board of Supervisors meeting about county noise levels.
Anyone who can attend is urged to. Contact Judy for more information.
Ron then went over information about the Motherlode Rockcrawlers club
with our guests. Wow! They still stayed for the rest of the meeting.
Correspondence
The usual junk mail, In Gear, BRC magazine, Eldorado Forest event
schedule, stuff like that. Ron did mention an article that was published
in In Gear. It reminded Rubicon trail users who camped in the springs
area on the private land to pay the camping fee. We also received notice
from United 4WD that their new membership fees and member system is
changing. I think we all had a headache after Ron made a great effort to
explain and read them to us. It was decided we would visit the subject
at a later date and decide if we want to continue supporting United or
if our money would be used better elsewhere.
Old Stuff
Gary and Pete went on a local TV show to discuss our club and what we
are about. They said time went fast and they did not get to discuss
everything but it went well. You can email them for an autograph.
Barbeque –idea is on hold until we generate some cash flow.
New Business
Ron is going to be getting new reflective decals with the newer design
logo at a Jackson source for $5.30. Mike (that’s me) will get him the
artwork.
