PRESIDENTS MESSAGE: Ron began the meeting with an introduction of officers and a little history of the club. Everyone introduced themselves and told what they drive.
Ron spoke about the Ione Parade and the trip to Winnemucca. He has been really busy and has not checked on the new decals.

VICE PRESIDENTS MESSAGE: Mike has been very busy also. The bad weather has been hard on their horses and they had to traveling to take care of them. He was sorry they had missed some of the meetings.

TREASURERS REPORT: Our current balance is $531.85. Money received in May was $329.00 bringing the balance to $860.85. Judy still needs to collect from some their Cal 4wheel dues now. All outstanding dues were collected. Sally asked for a reimbursement of $82.57 for the potluck meat at Walker River. Jerry raised an objection to asking for reimbursement after the fact. Ron said he had talked to Sally by phone and given her permission to purchase the meat. It was voted and passed to reimburse her for the expense.

SECRETARYS REPORT: Carol thanked Mike Stoller for taking minutes at the May meeting. She thought he did such a great job that he should be the secretary. Since Carol and Larry will be gone during July and part of August the July minutes will be done by Sally Mole’ and the August minutes will be taken care of also. The minutes for May were approved.

DELEGATE AND LAND USE: Del was not present. Pete and a few others went to the local supervisors meeting. The topic was “banning ATV’s in your own back year”. One of the concerns was noise. This should be a noise problem, not an ATV problem. 97 decibels is state noise level and the local supervisors want to lower it to 50 decibels. This would eliminate all sorts of such things as leaf blowers. There was a lot of support for ATV’s represented at the meeting. Residence are moving up here from the city then wanting to change our way of living.

CORRESPONDENCE: The monthly magazines came in. Del has an article in Blue Ribbon. Ron received a letter from Eric who is present tonight. The 40th annual Sierra Trek is in August, they are asking our club to donate to the raffle. We will wait to see if any of our members plan to attend. El Dorado National Forest sent out information on restricted trails. Basically stay on designated roads. Information on camp grounds on Labor Day. General rules and regulations. There sill be a meeting regarding trail closures in Placerville on June 6th at the County Office of Education and another on June 8th at the Jackson Civic Center. Ron had an email from Robert Lightfoot who is leading a work party on the Rubicon Gate Keeper on June 3rd. If it needs to be rescheduled it will be June 24th.

At this point raffle tickets were sold.

OLD BUSINESS: We still have inventory for sale. Ron has ordered 12 windshield decals in red, white and blue. They should be in next week and will cost about $18.00. Ron would like to have the Les Schwab car show in early October. We need to publicize the event. Novice Day on August 12th, this is also Trina’s wedding day. On September 16 and 17 is the Cancer Walk a Thon at Argonaut High School. The entry fee is $150.00 due by June 30th. At this time Jerry moved that members, who would like to, help contribute to the fee. Members of the club opened their wallets and donated the entire fee. We also will need 10 members to agree to walk. There will be all kinds of extras provided. Gigi has agreed to co-chair.

NEW BUSINESS: James Nohel has fulfilled his meetings and trips to become a member of the club. James was sent outside and a vote was taken. He was voted in unanimously. Welcome James.
Blood Sweat and Gears are guests tonight and would like to talk to us about kid on the Rock. This event is coming up on June 24th. It’s a very rewarding but sometimes it scares the “kids”. These “kids” could be as old as 30 or 40. They have a great time and well as the drivers.

PAST RUNS: The Ione parade was attended by 6 jeeps. The club received a nice plaque with Don Bryant’s picture on it. The club was also shown on the local TV station. Again, please be sure to sign up for events so we know how many to expect. Walker River had 28 people, 8 dogs, 2 horses, 6 jeeps and many bikes and ATV’s. Richard went on some narrow, brushy roads, in and out of some canyons, a cliff hanger or two, muddy and the views were fabulous. At 8,000 to 9,000 feet there was some snow. Great trails and he would like to go back. Went to LeVineing, Mono Lake, followed old rail road tracks, ended up at Bodie. If anyone would like to go to Walker River next year, you need to call now. The Winnemucca run had 15 families. They had a good time and a bad time. There were many inconsiderate loud and rude individuals this time. Called the sheriff 4 times but did not help much. Good thing, no one got hurt. Pete and Buddy went to Bridge Port. They had pot luck in the snow. They received about 2 inches while camping out. They ended up in the hot springs to keep warm. On one narrow trail they met Bubba and Leroy dragging a 30 foot tree. After some discussion they were persuaded to roll the tree to the side so they could get around them. May in Moab – Gary and Trina went. Everyday someone broke down. They had a great time and shared their pictures with us. Trina and Scott were going to go to Bronco Canyon. They did Strawberry as an alternate, and then ran Long Canyon. It snowed on them all day. They heard that Bronco Canyon is impassible at the lower level after all the rain.

FUTURE RUNS: Jeeps unlimited will have a Rubicon Run on Monday after Labor Day. El Dorado canyon is coming up June 10th. Richard suggested changing to Barney Riley instead. It was decided to stay with El Dorado. Please sign up on the web. Kids on the Rock, contact Blood Sweat and Gears. Ken’s annual B-B-Q is going to be on June 24 at 1:00 pm. July 1st is still up in the air, maybe Barney Riley. Richard encouraged new people to go on Barney Riley.

Next meeting will be July 6th.

Meeting adjourned at 9:27 pm.

There was $27.00 in the Raffle Pot. Raffle was won by Richard Hughes; he received $13.50 and zip ties and bungee cords. The other $13.50 went to club to buy the prizes for the next raffle.

Respectfully submitted,
Carol Whitehead, Secretary
