Meeting was called to order by Richard Yeargan at 7:35pm.

Guests attending:
Tony Clark, Bob & Lynn Edmonson

President’s report: Richard has been working on Gary’s jeep. They have installed a terro-low slip, new drivelines, 3 ½ Rubicon lift. No new tires yet! Richard touched on an issue in the Woodfords area. A section of this corridor may become a Scenic By-Way instead of a Calif. Scenic Route. This will make it easier to fund for improvements. It is being handled by the BLM and Nat’l Forest. There will be no building in the area.

Richard put out a “BOL” for our club decals. It appears several members have lost their decals while shopping in Wal-Mart or just being parked around town. Pete lost his MLRC hitch.
Attended the crab feed in Lodi and had a blast.

Vice-President’s report: Trina has been communicating with the Board of Supervisors of Amador County. They want to know if we would like to participate to help with litter control. How often do we want to do litter control and how many miles? One area mentioned is from Martell to Upper Ridge Road. It was decided to be added to an agenda for a future meeting to consider doing once or twice a year.

Treasure’s report: We had $946.22 in the bank. Memberships were collected at the meeting for $210 giving us a balance of $1156.22. Mark says we are in good shape; ALMOST everyone has paid member dues. Mark will be calling the 7 members who have not paid. He would send Don after them to collect but Don hasn’t paid either! Mark pasted out a year-end balance sheet for 2003.

Secretary’s report: I got put on the spot so I read exactly what Tami had typed. Sure you don’t want this job back Tami?!

Membership report: Ron said he would help Mark collect membership dues. At the time of the meeting there were 7 members not yet paid. Ron said two members were dropping either for low participation or the family wasn’t enjoying it. He knew of someone else interested in joining. Pete also had a new prospect. Tony was in attendance this evening. He has been on 1 run and several meetings and still interested in joining. Bob & Lynn have been on a run and to a meeting and still might join...

Delegate report: Del had no report for delegate. But Del will be out delegate at the convention in Reno.

Land Use & Conservation report: Del had spent an entire day (4 ½ hrs.) in Sonora for the interface plan. The meeting was between the Sierra Club wanting to close everything to 4WD and the Forest Service wanting us to have play space too. It seems as though neither side will budge and they will go to court over this 12-year controversy. Blue Ribbon and the Interface are helping. Cal4WD is not involved but Del is personally involved.
Don Kleessmar of Cal4WD had a heart attack.
FOTR meeting is NOT on 2/21, it is changed to 2/22. They do not need body’s just speakers. Herb Wesson is retiring.

Correspondence: The mail was slim. We received an add from Core Marketing Group. They specialize in cargo nets and tie downs.
Ron would like to have a Novice Training Day. It will go on the agenda for a future meeting. Eva from Calaveras Times would be willing to put some of our events on the calendar in the paper. Public TV would also attend Novice Day.

Old Business: Mike has t-shirts; they are on SALE for $10. The sooner we get rid of the old the sooner we can order the new. The new will be forest green. Ron has no hats left. He is looking into a new style.

New Business: By-law change, never mind! Bay area back roads proposal, no Don, never mind. Roster updates; Ron will get confirmation of paid members and get a new roster to everyone. Med cards; Mike passed out new Med cards. Everyone should fill out a new one unless there are no changes. Get them to Ron and he will laminate them for us. Officers were given extras to keep on hand. They should be kept in the glove box of your vehicle. Training Day; the last one was 3-years ago, we can put an add in the paper, do a seminar on wench demonstration (I got that on the Topaz run), probably plan the run at Bear River. Ron would like to plan the run on our trail in July. Retired speaker Frank Tortarich will join us. He can give us extensive information on the area’s history. We should include the news, TV and Forest Service. The purpose of this would be for image enhancement, not recruitment and show we are SUV friendly. Del reported the CA4WDC Bylaw changes are only minor; there are no significant changes to be made. Richard motioned to let Del vote for us and Emily seconded the motion. For the convention in Reno: dinner Saturday night, look decent. Del said there would be some ties; about 2/3 folks will dress up and 1/3 will be casual. Pant suits and a tequila bottle are acceptable.
Rob Griffin needs a ride thru Deer Valley and yes we are interested in doing it. Pete would like to bring some scouts along on our adopt a trail for litter control. About 5 kids 9-10 years old. We will have to have liability release’s filled out. They would also be interested in attending a Moke Hill River clean-up. But it would be more like 30 kids. Ron will look into another order of trailer hitches. If you are interested in hitches, post it in the member’s area on the website. We need to order quantity in order to get a price break. Ron wants to have a BBQ at his place and get a group photo taken on 2/28. There will be more info and an RSVP on the website. Richard added a link on the website for Amador Auto-transmissions. He is now our off-road/trail repair consultant.

Past Runs: Winter Fun Fest was GREAT!! We had lots of members in attendance. We did the SUV run; it was mainly 2WD and very scenic. We served dinner to over 600 folk and Del serenaded the line earning more than $250 to donate CA4WD. We are not interested in Sierra Trek. Next Year WFF; we will register and probably serve dinner but do our own run. Absolutely Del must sing again.

Future Runs: Topaz will have lots of snow! Weather should be good. Trina needs a pet room. March 7 will be our Road Patrol Survey. March 27- April 4 Del’s Death Valley Trip (careful folks, he got lost in Grass Valley). Hollister Hills; Don is still working on the details. May 1-2 Ione Homecoming Parade and breakfast @ Trina’s! Richard & Gigi cancelled the Disney trip to join Del on his DV trip. It is ok to sell parts in the chat room on the website. Several items were mentioned at the meeting. Ron passed out goodies; burlap sacs, sunglass holders.

Ron made a motion to adjourn and Mike seconded the motion. It was past my bedtime so it was late.
