December 2, 2004
Members present: Ron DeLaney, Mark & Emily Stoller, Wes & Barbara Cross,
Larry & Carol Whitehead, Richard & Gigi Yeargan, Don Weber, Gary & Carol
Pearson, Mike & Sally Molé and Don Riddle.
Guests present: Mark Foley, Alan, Dana & Tyler Ames.
President Richard Yeargan called the meeting to order at 7:30pm. He
introduced the guests. He went over some details of the past year and
over all feels the club had a good year. We introduced new members; Don
Riddle and Zak & Maribel Bodle. We had 26 published runs. 8 of the runs
were for community service including WFF, road patrol, oil recycling,
Kids on the Rocks, Adopt-a-Trail, destruction derby, kiosk move at the
Rubicon, Moke River clean up and the toy drive. We made a presence in
several parades as well as making a donation to CA4WD. Richard is very
proud of our accomplishments. He and Gigi have been working on the
trailer.
Vice-President’s Report: Trina was traveling and unable to attend.
Trea$urer’s Report: Mark passed out a spread sheet of our account. We
have $875.79 plus an additional $330 that was collected this evening for
dues.
PLEASE PAY YOUR DUES IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO ALREADY!
Mark needs to pay United 4WD and they start sending late notices
immediately if they are not paid.
Secretary’s Report: Richard pointed out a large mistake I made in the
last set of minutes. I reported be purchased a Ford and he did not. He
bought a Dodge and he is very pleased with it. I offered to pass around
a copy f the last minutes, there were no takers.
Membership: We voted in some new members this evening. Let’s give a big
welcome to Mark & Amy Foley and their 3 boys and Alan, Dana & Tyler
Ames. Apparently there is a person who has attended 2 meetings and no
runs and is driving around with a yellow MLRC sign on the top of his
yellow jeep. Ron will be calling him to let him know that is
inappropriate.
Note to webmaster: can we get a copy right or trademark on our MLRC
insignia?
Jeff Zeber sent a letter of resignation to the club. He has not been
able to make meetings or runs regularly but looks forward to joining us
as a guest as time allows in the future. Ron has had 7 club inquires
from families both in and out of the immediate area.
Delegate, Land Use & Conservation: Del is in San Diego and unable to
attend.
Correspondence: Nancy Bryant sent a letter and dues. Kate Olson from WFF
is requesting a donation for a raffle prize. Ron found a bank statement
from 1999 that Mark shred on the spot. Ron has membership cards for
CA4WD folks and the November In Gear. It was decided this evening that
if a certain club member pays his 2005 dues, it will not be accepted. He
was voted out of the club for not having met his club participation
obligations. Any questions regarding this matter should be addressed to
Richard. Scott Dickerson emailed and would like to meet with any MLRC
that are attending the toy run. Laura Blake emailed to nominate her Mom
Carol for any position not wanted.
Old Business: Plans for the Christmas party are proceeding well. If you
have chairs bring them with you please. WFF: the campground is secured,
there are 15 people signed up plus Ron’s group of 7 not yet signed up.
We are hoping Del will serenade the room again and Poobah is working the
bar for drinks!

Past Runs: Moke River Clean Up 11/6 several members participated. There
was a lot of clean up. Richard winched up a sofa and one of two
newspaper machines found that day. The clean up collected between
900-1000 lbs. of garbage. Our help was very much appreciated and
mentioned on the TV as well as the newspapers. They were at Jose’s by
noon for margaritas and lunch. Bronco Canyon 11/13 some folks met at
Atlantis Friday night. Saturday morning we met for breakfast. Jim from
Nth Mobility joined us again. Richard got a dent. But everyone made it
thru without major injuries. Corral Hollow 11/20 the run ended up being
at Ponderosa Road as an SUV run. It was a good run, with scenic views
and lunch by the river. Some folks did it in 2WD which made it
interesting. Turkey Day at Walker River was cold! Thursday they did some
wheelin’ and went to Topaz for dinner. Friday they did some wheelin’ and
deep fried a turkey for dinner. Saturday it started snowing at about 8am
and didn’t stop until 3pm. They were able to get in a short run after
the snow. That night it got down to 12 degrees, Richard had some pipes
freeze. Everyone left Sunday by noonish but the roads were in bad
condition. They met again in Minden, had dinner and gambled a bit. It
got down to 4 degrees and Mark was running frozen water thru the night
to keep his pipes from freezing. Everyone arrived home safely on Monday
afternoon.
Future Runs: Toy Run 12/4 everyone attending the meeting brought toys to
take to the kids. We had a nice pile of toys by the end f the evening.
Ron has to work so Buddy will be picking up the toys to take to Sacto.
Melissa will be going. Buddy will be contacting the folks that want to
hook up at the event. WFF and X-mas party was covered in New Buz.
Mark S. moved to adjourn at 8:35pm. It was seconded by Gary.
