The meeting was called to order at 7:33pm by President Richard Yeargan. The attendees sang Happy B-day to him. Trina brought goodies to munch on throughout the evening. Sally brought hats, balloons, candles and a card for all to sign.

Presidents Report: Richard reported they had attended the fireworks at Jackson Jr. High. They have been doing lots of fishing on Silver Lake. On one such occasion they had a contest going with some other fisher-friends; no one could bring in a fish except… Gigi. She brought in 5 fish and a crawdad the size of a lobster. Richard lightened Don Riddle’s wallet recently. Don went with a Rubicon lift, 4/10 gearing, ARB front & rear and several other goodies. Richard installed the tummy-tucker on his jeep. He commented that it was a nightmare! Don’s Buttercup is not running but will be in Richard’s shop the next few days.

Vice-Presidents Report: Trina was able to get an answer for the volunteer clean-up we have been considering. They decided to go with prison crews. We will have to look else where for volunteer work.

Trea$urers Report: Mark is playing in Oregon. Mike M. obtained Richard’s signature on the card for our new account. However no statement was brought in that evening. Mike M. recalls we have a little over $900.

Secretary’s Report: Sally offered to pass around a copy of last month’s minutes for anyone’s reading enjoyment; there were no takers. She gave Richard the B-day card which had been around the table.

Membership: Ron is playing in Oregon.

Delegate, Land Use & Conservation: Del is attending Sierra Trek.

Correspondence: Ron is still playing in Oregon but Richard got the mail. We got 2 pieces of mail to go directly to Del. CA4WD sent 6 membership packets. Richard inquired to who was answering the messages through the website. Mike S. is doing a fine job of it!

Old Business: Training Day for 7/17 was cancelled. We will reschedule when Ron is back from Oregon. Trail Inventory is ongoing for Mike S. and Del.

New Business: Labor Day Weekend Schedule of Events: Sunday night is the potluck. Richard has appointed Em & Sal to be the town drunks. Trina & Gigi offered their support and Pete said Karen would be happy to contribute. Saturday will include a night run in Deer Valley. Friday and Monday are open at this point. Runs mentioned for these two days are; Silver Creek, Wolf Creek, Barney Riley, Sweetwater, Strawberry or the fake Rubicon in Myers. Richard & Sal appointed Mike M. to purchase the tri-tip from Swingles in Jackson. Flavors mentioned were motherlode, kona, Cajun… Richard would like rigs to get up as early as a week prior to the weekend in order to save spots. Please contact him if you are able to do so.

BRING BEE TRAPS!!!

THE SEPTEMBER MEETING HAS BEEN RESECHEDULED TO THURSDAY SEPTMEBER 9TH DUE TO THE HOPE VALLEY EVENT.

Past Runs: Adopt-a-trail 7/3 no one was present to report. However, hearsay said it went well. Several trees were taken out, tracks covered up. All agreed the club needs a presence out there on a more regular basis. Mike S. & Wes went back. There are still bypasses that need to be blocked. There was an ATV trail to a closed area. We will try to schedule a run after the 1st rain or snow. Destruction Derby 7/25 Don, Larry & Richard reported a good time with the 6 vehicles in attendance. Richard had a near run in with one of the car’s trailers. He would like to see next year be a members only event. Don & Gareth spent some time in the Swamp Lake and Dusy area. They ran a 17-mile trail; in 2-days it took a total of 7-hours.

Future Runs: Sierra Trek 8/5 Del is there. Trivecta 8/7: Mike M. reported we have 11 rigs signed up. Folks interested in having breakfast we will meet at 7am at Bear Ridge. The restaurant is across the street from Bank of America in Arnold where everyone is meeting at 8am. It will be a long, fun day! FOTR 8/14-15: Richard is disappointed with the lack of sign-ups. Most members will be camping at Airport Flat. Del and others will be at Rubicon Springs. See “new business” for info on Labor Day Weekend. The BBQ at Ken’s is still on track as far as we know. Doran Beach 10/8-10: not sure if space is available.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:35pm.
