Reports:
President:
Ron had the lettering changed from the sample hitch cover, he showed us
a proof of the final design and has 16 on order they should be available
for purchase at the next meeting for $26 each. The folks from Jackson
Ford contacted Ron about the 4X4 show and Ron told him our reasons for
declining the invitation.
Vice President:
Has t-shirt news to be covered under new business
Treasurer:
Our current balance is $497 there are some uncollected membership dues
pending.
Membership:
The club received a letter from Don Weber requesting consideration for
membership for him and Ann. Mark made the motion to accept them as
members and was passed by voice. Welcome Don and Ann.
Delegate/Land use:
The FOTR meeting in Sacramento went well and the cease and desist order
was rescinded so Rubicon remains open for now, it seems that there is a
problem with human waste disposal along the trail, it seems that the
environment just can’t handle the 17,000 pounds per year that trail
users leave behind, and trail toilets present a logistics problem, so
for now we will be asked to pack it out. The Boxer-Fienstien team has
their eye on another 7 million acres to turn into wilderness.
Correspondence:
Newsletters from Southwest 4-wheel drive assn. And United 4-wheel were
received and distributed to members, Cal. Rockcrawlers invited us to
compete in their event. An e-mail from Dan arrived, it seems that he
tore his achillies tendon playing basketball and will be laid up for a
while, get well soon Dan.
Old business:
Med cards, some people still haven’t returned their completed cards, as
of yet, you know who you are,
Winter Fun Festival, Chuck was somewhat disappointed in the way the
event turned out this year there was a small turnout for the games and
the riverbed area was overrun by non-participant vehicles causing delays
in the games and safety issues.
New business:
T-shirts, Mike has taken over the t-shirt issue and has consulted a
vendor, he along with Richard and Mark offered to bankroll the venture
and sell the shirts to members in order to recover their investment.
Several color options were offered and the club voted on gray for this
run.
Bylaw changes:
There were motions made and passed to change the bylaws Mike and Jerry
will write up the changes and have them ready at the next meeting.
Calendar change:
Richard made a motion to switch the dates for the adopt-a-trail and the
Rubicon run in order for the adopt-a-trail run to fall on the same date
as the Bear River Fishing Derby, it was passed, details will be on the
website soon.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:20PM
